Bellamy Grapples with Smith Decision

Craig Bellamy vented his frustration last night about Cameron Smith's suspension in the post match press conference. His obvious anger and disappointment was evident as he could not believe the Australian hooker was targeted at this time of year after a season full of grapple tackles.
The fuming Storm coach stated that Smith was "hung out to dry ten minutes after the game last weekend."
He believes that certain parts of the media influenced the decision and he made comparisons to certain tackles that haven't been sited this season. The main one being a tackle made by the Dragon's Stuart Webb on Manly's Heath L'Estrange in the first week of the finals. Bellamy firmly believes that because of Melbourne's reputation, Smith was charged and Webb wasn't.
He certainly makes a valid point but the club could face an enormous $50 000 fine for his and Brian Waldron's, the Melbourne Storm club managers outburst. Waldron was furious about the comments made by Ricky Stuart during the week relating to Smith's tackle. He stated that opposition coaches and staff should not comment on judicial issues as they might seem to influence their decision.
Stuart responded calling Waldron a 'flip', 'wombat', and an idiot within the space of a minute in his press conference. The Storm and Sharks coaches have been friends for over 20 years but it seems some reconciliation may need to take place over the next couple of weeks.
David Gallop and the NRL will decide on the penalty in the next couple of days for Melbourne's outbursts. Ricky Stuart will escape a fine but could not avoid a loss last night.
