Could the Boxing Day Test be under threat?

Seems the South Africans aren't happy that Australia gets Boxing Day and New Year Tests every summer and when they play us in 2008/09 they want to play in South Africa in December-January and then over to Australia. Source - Cricinfo
If this was to happen, Australia would be playing in South Africa after Christmas and the Boxing Day Test at the MCG and the January Test at the SCG wouldn't happen.
In most of the Test-playing world, the game is struggling. South Africa hosts a Boxing Day Test every year except when they play in Australia, and most of the time they struggle to get more than 8,000 through the gates for any day. It's only in Australia during that time period, when Boxing Day gets over 60,000 and the opening day in Sydney over 40,000 that keeps the interest in Test cricket alive. It would be total madness to give that up.
Boo hoo South Africa. Call us back when you sell out 90,000 seats for a day of Test cricket. This idea is completely ridiculous.
