With a lot of players moving overseas earlier in their careers these days, I have collated a team of NRL players over the age of 30 that contributed to this years NRL competition.
Even though some of these players might seem a little over the hill, I would say that if they were to come together they would be competition favourites. Feel free to disagree with me and give your own opinions about selections.
Boofhead Sports Over 30's team:
1. Brett Hodgson (West Tigers)
2. Hazem El Masri (Canterbury Bulldogs)
3. Steven Bell (Manly Sea Eagles)
4. Matt Rogers (Gold Coast Titans)
5. Wendell Sailor (St George Illawarra Dragons)
6. Darren Lockyer (Brisbane Broncos)
7. Matt Orford (Manly Sea Eagles)
8. Steve Price (New Zealand Warriors)
9. Danny Buderus (Newcastle Knights)
10. Petero Civoniceva (Penrith Panthers)
11. Steve Menzies (Manly Sea Eagles)
12. Craig Fitzgibbon (Sydney City Roosters)
13. Tonie Carroll (Brisbane Broncos)
14. Rubin Wiki (New Zealand Warriors)
15. Nathan Cayless (Parramatta Eels)
16. David Kidwell (South Sydney Rabbitohs)
17. Preston Campbell (Gold Coast Titans)
Now this team would probably not fit under the salary cap but I think it would go alright for a bunch of senior players. Just look at the amount of representative experience this team would have.
