It was a good week in Football during round to, we saw some good games, some great goals and also some injuries we'd rather not have seen.
On Friday night a determined Brisbane over ran a tired Collingwood in the last quarter, to grab a 2 point victory from the jaws of defeat. Come Saturday afternoon, another game for Melbourne, and another resounding defeat 66-151 Saturday was a day for wins, and big ones at that wutg a surprise belting of West Coast to the tune of 76pts, Final Score 133-57
As we slipped in to the darkness of night we saw Hawthorn score another win, to put them at the top of the table with 2 from 2. We also saw yet another.... comfortable win. With St, Kilda overcoming a Carlton team that was never really in it 125-85.
Sunday came, and with it the trend of big wins seemed set to continue. In the first match of the day Geelong showed us the form which won them a premiership last year. Completely smashing the Bombers, who had been promising this season up until then 150-51. While in a match that was never going to be an absolute classic. The Kangaroos or North Melbourne as they now want to be called, made sure of a result that was never in doubt. Beating Richmond 127-86.
So after to rounds of the AFL season the top 4 consists of Hawthorn, Geelong, Western Bulldogs and St. Kilda. While the bottom four is occupied by Fremantle , Carlton, Port Adelaide and Melbourne sitting at the basement. Not to much value can be placed on the ladder at this early stage of the season, but it is beginning to take shape.
